Takealot.com, a leading South African online retailer, is looking for a highly talented Platform Compliance Specialist to join our Legal team in Cape Town.

This position reports to the Senior Legal Counsel
Your responsibilities will include:
Assist in conducting due diligence on merchants as part of the onboarding process. Conduct ongoing due diligence on the merchant database including checking for duplicate accounts and verification of all merchant information. Actively monitor merchants’ compliance obligations including proactively reviewing merchant operations catalogue for any non-compliant products i.e. product certification compliance, product authenticity and labelling requirements. Take any necessary steps including communicating with merchants about compliance requirements. Assist merchants by creating compliance knowledge pieces and new standard operating procedures where necessary. Follow up on customer-related issues as part of ticket queries. Meet SLA turnaround times. Review merchants’ appeals, including root-cause analysis and process improvements. Engage with other teams within the business to assist with merchant compliance issues along with data analysts to assist with enhancing compliance. Work independently and collaboratively by using resources, policies, and procedures. Assist the team with other tasks including project deliverables.
Qualifications and Experience:
Diploma or Advanced Certificate In Criminal Justice and Forensic Investigations or another equivalent degree/diploma preferred Minimum 3 years of experience in a stakeholder management operational role (customer service experience is a plus) Or Matric with Relevant 6+ Years of Experience in a stakeholder management operational role (customer service experience is a plus)

Attention to detail and ability to identify non-compliant products, merchant conduct contrary to selling on Takealot terms and conditions. Excellent written communication skills and stakeholder management and engagement. Ability to prioritise. Strong time management skills. Team player. Ability to work in a high-pressure environment. Ability to use data to inform decisions if required.
