Our Clothing Retail client is currently looking for an Retail Area Manager based in Vaal
About the Role : As an Area Manager, you'll be responsible for overseeing 10-12 stores, ensuring they meet and exceed our business objectives. You’ll lead a talented team, optimize processes, and drive growth while maintaining exceptional standards of service and performance.
Areas to be covered:
- Vaal
- Vereeniging
- Potchefstroom
- Klerksdorp
- Vryberg
- Orkney
- Evaton
- Orangefarm
Remuneration: Market Related
Working Hours: Monday – Friday 08h00-17h00 ( Month End Saturdays -pop-in’s required)
KEY FUNCTIONS:
- Drive turnover
- Control expenses
- Control stock losses
- Develop, manage, and motivate staff
- Recruit and train staff
- Manage merchandise
- Customer service management
- Manage in-store administration and security checks
- Employee Relations
Requirements:
- Matric / Additional qualification will be an advantage in Management, Supply Chain and Retail
- 5 years’ experience as an Area Manager - ideally within clothing retail sector
- 3-5 years Employee Relations experience is non negotiable
- Must have managed up to 8-10 stores
- Solid Stock taking and forecasting experience
- Strong Admin and retail operations skills
- Strong leadership and team-building skills
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support a team of managers and associates across several locations
- Implement strategies to drive business performance to achieve targets
- Ensure operational efficiency and adherence to company policies
- Analyze performance metrics and create actionable plans for improvement
- Recruiting and managing staff
- Managing stocktake Planning and process
- Managing of disciplinary action and ER cases
- Ensuring Admin, Trade and people checks are in line with business standards
- Foster a positive and productive work environment
