We currently have a vacancy for the position of Receptionist, based in Johannesburg.
Overall purpose of the job: Welcomes visitors by greeting them in person or on the telephone, answering or referring inquiries, and directing calls & visitors to the relevant department.
Responsibilities
- Answer telephone, screen, and direct calls.
- Take and relay messages.
- Provide information to callers.
- Direct persons to the correct destination.
- Deal with queries from the public and customers.
- Ensure knowledge of staff movements in and out of the organisation.
- Monitor visitor access and maintain security awareness.
- Provide general administrative and clerical support.
- Prepare correspondence and documents.
- Receive and sort mail and deliveries.
- Monitor and maintain office equipment.
- Control inventory relevant to the reception area.
- Ensure the tidiness of the reception area.
Qualifications
- Qualification in office administration or similar – highly preferred.
- Previous experience of at least two years in a similar position.
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Excellent command of the English language.
- Ability to manage customer expectations.
- Customer-focused - ability to excel in the provision of service.
- Energetic, shows initiative, and has the ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to consistently deliver quality service even when under pressure.
- Time management skills and keen sense of attention to detail.
- PC literate (Excel, Word, e-mail; SAP literate a distinct advantage).
