This critical leadership role is part of the SSA Country Leadership Team, tasked with accelerating transformational change and delivering enhanced business outcomes for our company, customers, and stakeholders within established timelines. The transformation will span both core business operations and the introduction of innovative digital products and services that add value.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning & Execution: Oversee the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of a strategic framework that drives transformational change. This includes ideation, planning, scoping, testing, and monitoring to achieve cross-functional objectives.
- Market & Customer Insight Integration: Leverage market trends and customer insights to align strategic goals with Group, Regional, and Country priorities. Ensure the business remains competitive and forward-thinking.
- 4-Year Business Plan: Drive the development and execution of a 4-year roadmap that aligns with the goals and targets for employees, customers, and shareholders.
- Digital Development Leadership: Lead the SSA digital development team, in collaboration with Brambles Digital, to introduce new digital products and value-enhancing services to the market.
- Marketing Leadership: Design and implement marketing campaigns and initiatives focused on customer retention and supporting SSA’s growth objectives.
- Project Management: Oversee all project management activities, ensuring the successful delivery of transformational initiatives for the SSA business.
- Team Leadership: Lead and motivate both direct and indirect reports, fostering a high-performance culture that attracts, retains, and engages top talent.
Minimum Requirements
- A relevant undergraduate degree (postgraduate degree/MBA preferred).
- 5+ years of senior management experience, ideally at the director or executive level, with a track record of leading diverse teams and senior employees.
- In-depth understanding of the fiduciary responsibilities associated with directorship in the South African regulatory environment.
- Proven experience in managing complex strategic and business change projects within a multinational, matrix organization.
- Strong customer relationship management experience, with exposure to both B2C and B2B markets, brand building, solution marketing, and sales.
- Comprehensive understanding of the SSA supply chain, including cross-border markets in FMCG, retail, agriculture, and automotive sectors. Experience in equipment pooling solutions is highly desirable.
- Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and financial acumen, with the ability to influence and drive profitable business solutions.
