Minimum requirements
- Matric
- Practical industry experience (minimum 5 Years)
- Software Knowledge of Pastel, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Sales:
- Sourcing new sales opportunities, following up on quotes.
- Prioritize and manage time effectively.
- Closing sales and achieving monthly targets.
Customer Service:
- Quotation turnaround time.
- Handling customer complaints.
Operations:
- Convey the customers’ feedback to operations.
- Delivery of Quality Products, on time and on spec.
Stock:
- Ordering of stock when needed.
- Managing accounts/Debtors: Debtors management (COD accounts).
Duties
Sales:
- Establish and maintain good relationships with new as well as existing customers.
- Identify customer needs and keep them well informed on new products and services.
- Handle all transactions personally and ensure the information is clearly communicated between the company and the client.
- Promote upselling by identifying other needs the clients may have.
- Collaborate with other companies through buy-outs ensuring additional income generated for the company.
- Follow up on leads and quotes.
- Assist with picking up stock to be delivered when needed.
Marketing:
- Identify and communicate with potential new clients.
- Upload social media content of completed projects as well as new products, services, and promotions.
- Identify and follow up with new clients through social media interactions.
- Communicate stock availability to clients.
Finance:
- Ensure all cash sales are paid in full before collection/delivery.
- Handle all incoming cash from clients and distribute it to the relevant financial department.
- Follow up on any outstanding accounts.
Sales Invoicing:
- Ensure credit accounts are settled at month-end.
- Ensure complete details of each customer reflect on all EFT payments.
- Communicate and support price increases.
Communication:
- Communicate effectively with the production manager on all invoices.
- Follow up on all quotes and get commitments from clients.
- Assist walk-in clients with related queries.
- Strategize with the branch manager to create new opportunities for the sales team.
- Build a strong relationship with suppliers.
Sales Targets:
- Participate in setting realistic sales targets.
- Aspire to achieve monthly sales targets.
- Maintain and update the sales database.
Stock Purchases:
- Communicate with other branches or suppliers on stock availability.
- Ensure all buy-out stock is ordered correctly.
- Liaise with the branch manager on discount pricing and ordering.
Stock Takes:
- Perform accurate stock counts.
- Ensure stock sheets are accurate and clear.
- Confirm correct product information is recorded.
Product Knowledge:
- Gain knowledge of cutting and edging of boards.
- Understand market-related pricing.
Health and Safety:
- Report any health and safety issues to your superior.
- Follow all health and safety procedures.
General:
- Maintain neatness in personal appearance and workstation.
- Exhibit excellent attendance and timekeeping.
- Be self-motivated.
- Wear the correct dress code/PPE at all times.
- Clock in & out on the workflow program.
- Identify different boards/woods on the cutting list.
- Ensure enough board/wood is ordered for jobs.
- Submit client quotes accurately according to the cutting list.
- Ensure cutting is correct as per the cutting list.
- Wrap and deliver items on time after cutting.
- Mark all boards correctly with job name and panel size.
- Meet all deadlines in a timely manner.
- Work with the team to reach project goals.
- Report to Project Manager/Factory Foreman/CEO & draughtsman.
This is a full-time position, with the first 3 months serving as a probation period. Upon successful completion, a permanent employment contract will be issued.
You are expected to work 46 straight hours per week.
Payable overtime can be requested.
Working hours:
Mon-Thu: 07:30 to 17:30
Fri: 07:30 to 14:00
Every 2nd Saturday: 08:00 to 12:00
Commission:
Cut and Edge sales: Amounts R250000 (ex Vat) revenue for the month earn 2.5% commission.
Spray sales: Amounts R250000 (ex Vat) revenue for the month earn 10% commission.
Commission can be paid the same month.
