Reporting to the Managing Director
Financial
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the full accounting function of the Company;
- Manage and mentor staff;
- Full responsibility for all financial reporting, flash, and management accounts, including the analysis and provision of explanations for variances;
- Assist Managing Director with preparation of quarterly Board Reports;
- Implement and maintain financial and operational policies and procedures;
- Ensure proper management of the Companies assets (including safeguarding and the maintenance thereof);
- Track the company’s financial status and performance in order to identify areas for potential improvement;
- Seek out methods for minimizing financial risk to the company;
- Manage the approval of transactions like payments, purchase orders and stock adjustments;
- Cash and working capital management to achieve targeted ROFE;
- Assist with the management of slow and dormant stock;
- Review Creditors recons/files and release payments;
- Review/authorize monthly payroll including commission calculations;
- Assist HR department with BEE compliance (including training budgets, ED and SD projects);
- Prepare annual budgets;
- Submit annual templates and packs including Tax;
- Complete Annual Insurance declaration;
- Submit any other report that may be required by Head Office from time to time;
- All provision calculations and IFRS calculations;
- Assist with Internal and External Audits;
- Attend monthly ISO and Management meetings;
- Assist with Occupational Health and Safety compliance;
- Liaise with IT Manager on any IT changes, improvements, and upgrades;
- Oversee quarterly Stock Takes, review results, and assist with reconciling variances;
- Understand and adhere to financial regulations and legislation;
- Daily securing of the building, and a contact for alarm activations;
- Participate in union negotiations;
Operational
- Any other reasonable tasks that may be required;
- Mine and analyze company data in order to be able to provide useful information and give recommendations and advice on how to improve company performance;
- Attend production meetings;
- Ensure Translution scanning is implemented speedily in the Warehouse and Factory;
- Monitor Factory recoveries and contribute to ways to make improvements;
- Lead ISO9001 team and assist with ISO9001 internal system audits;
- POPIA Compliance Officer’s delegate;
- Key member of the operations and factory management team.
