MINIMUM SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
- Standard 10 / Grade 12 or equivalent. National Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting / Finance (NQF6 /7) / equivalent.
- Strong accounting background plus a minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in a similar position and/or environment.
- Proficiency in Business English (written and spoken).
- Good interpersonal, communication and telephone skills.
- Computer literacy, including MS Office with proficiency in Syspro 8 and Advanced Excel.
- Strong understanding of Imports / Exports, and reporting in foreign currencies essential.
- Excellent reconciliation skills.
- Previous experience in FMCG.
- Knowledge of Fixed Assets.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
- All Accounting and bookkeeping duties relating to the function.
- Prepare all monthly journals and standard journals i.e. finance leases, depreciation, general ledger allocations, prepayments, provisions and accruals.
- Complete Balance Sheet / Income Statement GL Reconciliations in local currencies for all Cross-border branches with emphasis on inter-company loan accounts and meet strict deadlines.
- Review GL Transactions daily and liaise with finance colleagues to correct any misallocations.
- Reporting in Multiple Currencies as well as consolidation in Group Currency with emphasis on inter-company loan accounts.
- Maintain the Asset Register for all Cross-border branches monthly.
- Accurate preparation, submission and payment of the Cross-border branches VAT / WH VAT / WHT returns within statutory timelines. Reconcile the VAT GL to the revenue authorities statement, ensuring that all statutory compliance is met and documentation relating to Cross-border imports and exports is complete and correct.
- Audit assistance.
- Perform any other tasks that may from time to time be assigned.
