Our leading FMCG client is actively looking for a dynamic Sales / Branch Manager for their Empangeni operation. Role with cover the North Coast area and report into the Divisional Executive
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the small team at the branch and oversee the Stores and Distribution functions on site.
- Coordinate stock and deliveries from Pinetown to the warehouse, ensuring efficient stock management on site.
- Oversee Health & Safety (H&S), ISO, and Food Safety compliance for the branch.
- Handle property maintenance and security for the branch.
- Conduct day-to-day customer visits and manage key accounts.
- Source new customers and business opportunities.
- Effectively manage sales to exceed sales budgets.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers.
- Identify and create new opportunities within the industry.
- Monitor sales activities, customer interactions, and competitor actions proactively.
- Present professional price proposals in writing to all customers.
- Develop sales budgets in collaboration with the Executive team.
- Report weekly on sales performance.
- Interface with production, planning, and design departments.
- Ensure effective stock management and minimize obsolescence costs.
- Communicate and address customer requirements and complaints promptly.
- Manage admin, consumables, and other branch requirements.
- Ensure all team activities align with overall branch objectives.
Requirements:
- Understanding of the Rigid Plastic Packaging market is advantageous.
- Essential understanding of packaging.
- Proficiency in computer literacy (Excel, Word, PowerPoint; SAP is a benefit).
- Ability to work proactively, think laterally, and analyze situations effectively.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Competency in budgeting.
- Minimum education: Matric; a Sales and Marketing qualification is advantageous.
- 4 to 6 years of external sales experience.
- Proven ability to close deals efficiently and effectively.
- Ability to interact with all levels of employees, including senior management.
- Valid driver’s license (Code 08).
- Experience managing a team; experience in Stock or Logistics is advantageous.
