Key Responsibilities
- To ensure the Environmental Monitoring Schedule is adhered to. Investigate non-conformances to understand the cause and take preventative action to prevent recurrence. Control any non-conforming material. The graduate food technologist will work on a wide range of tasks within the quality assurance department, assisting other Food Technologists to ensure compliance with BRCGS requirements. This role includes implementation and updates of systems.
Job Objectives - Perform investigations of Internal NCRs swiftly in accordance with company procedures and policies.
- Ensure adherence to the environmental monitoring schedule.
- Meet deadlines of tasks.
- Implement BRCGS in the organization and update procedures for ongoing BRCGS certification.
Key Functional Areas - Non-conformance Investigations / Communications
- Environmental testing + Allergen Swabbing
- Review testing results against specifications
- QC Verifications
- Glass and Hard plastic trending
- Customer service: COAs/COCs, shelf life extensions, Questionnaires
- GMP audits & day-to-day monitoring of GMP practices in the factory
- Providing Operational support when needed
- Review and update procedures
- Other tasks: Training, Staff engagement meetings, Traceability studies, mock recalls, mass balances, consumable ordering, requesting ongoing supplier approval documentation
- The graduate food technologist will assist other Food Technologists to ensure compliance with BRCGS requirements and implement updates of systems.
Required Knowledge & Skills - Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (particularly in English) to effectively communicate with staff at all levels
- Accurate and concise work to ensure information provided is clear and understandable
- Good research skills
- Strong administrative skills
Required Prior Learning/ Experience - B. Tech/ Advanced Diploma in Food Consumer Sciences, B.Tech / Advanced Diploma Food Technology/ B. Sc Food Science / B. Sc Biotechnology or other relevant science degree. Copies of qualifications must be submitted with a CV
- Minimum 0 - 1 year relevant industry experience
- Prior training/experience in internal auditing, HACCP, BRCGS standard will be advantageous.
- Proficient in Microsoft programs (Outlook, Excel, Word)
