Job Description
A winery business is seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to manage the financial operations of their family office and three associated small entities. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Sage accounting software and have a strong understanding of general accounting principles. This role requires a strong communicator with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. This is a full-time position, based in Stellenbosch.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the financial records of the family office and three associated small entities using Sage accounting software.
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry, including invoices, payments, and expenses.
- Perform bank reconciliations and maintain general ledger accounts.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns.
- Manage payroll processing, including salaries, deductions, and statutory submissions.
- Prepare and analyse management accounts.
- Assist with the preparation of CPIC and basic accounting functions for administrative management.
- Maintain strong internal controls and compliance with financial regulations.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and management.
Requirements - Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, preferably with Sage software.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with CPIC and basic accounting functions.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Deadline driven.
