The business is a leading provider of smoke, heat and carbon monoxide detectors to the retail and trade sectors both in the UK and Europe.The jobholder will ultimately be responsible for the financial goals and targets associated to the electrical wholesale channel. This role will drive the activity, and promotional plans across the key wholesalers to ensure we achieve and ideally surpass our financial goalsThey will be a key contact for national account relationships and will work closely but not exclusively with the top end DIY retailers. Work to put promotional or incentive mechanics in place in conjunction with the sales director to ensure pull through of product where stocking agreements have been negotiated and implemented.Working closely with a number of key stakeholders across the business, the jobholder will need to;Ownership of the financial metrics for the existing DIY retail channel, ensuring forecasting, and highlighting of issues / concerns and gaps are made in a timely mannerProactively approach to all the key contacts across the DIY retail channel and mutually agree plans and activitiesContinuously review and improve the plans and activities, working and networking across the multiples to ensure we obtain buy-in and support from top to bottom across the organisationTo agree, manage and monitor the commercial agreements we have in place and negotiate future / annual renewals.Build promotional plan across key players, measure success, learn and adapt as necessaryNegotiate and agree tactical pricing with retailers bringing to commercial board as appropriateBuild out and develop a powerful network of key decision makers and influencers across the wholesale channel including in the contracting and installation space.Attend, participate and speak at events as appropriateEnsure we deliver excellent service and support to the DIY retailersKnowledge, Skills and ExperienceRequired:Excellent sales and interpersonal skills – min 5 years in a B2B sales roleKnowledge and understanding of the retail market and have a network of contacts .Excellent verbal written and presentation skills.Excellent organisational skills with proven experience of managing multiple deadlines and priorities.Strong networking skillsGreat problem-solving skillsPossess high attention to detail.Financially literate and able to work with and manage margins.Ability to work without supervision and use initiative.A people manager who can develop and get the best out of colleagues.Computer literate (MS office applications specifically; high standard of Excel skills)Must hold a valid UK driving licence.Desired:At least 5 years of experience in a customer facing senior role in a busy B2B DIY retail environment.A black book of contacts and a know-how of how to get it done.Proactive and an eagerness to learn.A hunger and excitement to work for a fast-growing business.Experience in an engineering/technology led organisation.A willingness to roll-up sleeves, be flexible, and take responsibility.Personal qualities:Good communicatorCharismatic with a sense of funDesire to succeed and deliver exceptional output.People driven and results orientated.Confident with a strong self-belief and a positive attitudeProblem-solver who takes ownership and will chase down problems to resolution.You should apply if: You are a reliable and structured professional and excel in a company where trust and integrity is the key foundation for everything we do.You love rolling up your sleeves to get it done.What we’re doing at FA excites you!CultureFA are in the simplicity business and they are building a team, who look at the world a little differently.
