Job Title: Junior Desktop Support Technician (Tier 1)

Contract Type: Contractual (Immediate Start)
Salary: R15,000 per month
Overview: We are seeking three motivated Junior Desktop Support Technicians with at least one year of desktop support experience to join our team in Central Cape Town on a contractual basis. As a Tier 1 Desktop Technician, you will be responsible for providing essential support to our users, handling laptop troubleshooting, and ensuring the smooth operation of IT services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Laptop Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues on laptops.
- Basic Onsite User Support: Provide on-site assistance to users for IT-related issues, including but not limited to software installations and system configurations.
- New User Setups: Set up new users with their IT equipment, including configuring desktops, laptops, and peripherals.
- Courier Services Organization: Arrange for the delivery and collection of new equipment to and from end users.
- Warranty Calls Logging: Manage warranty calls with hardware vendors to ensure timely repairs or replacements of faulty equipment.
Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of desktop support experience in a professional environment.
- Technical Skills: Basic understanding of hardware and software troubleshooting, installation, and maintenance.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and effectively.
- Customer Service: Demonstrated commitment to providing excellent user support.
- Availability: Must be able to start immediately and work on-site.
Desirable Skills:
- Certifications: Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Professional) are a plus but not required.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to think critically and troubleshoot complex issues.
