The overall purpose of the role
Under general supervision, perform actuarial and finance-related duties such as preparing, performing and analysing financial results, month end activities and identifying processes for automation. Other duties include collecting data from various databases and performing the necessary calculations and checks on the data for validation. The successful candidate will work closely with the finance team to provide actuarial assistance. The position will provide ample opportunity for growth and personal development.
Key Responsibilities
- Assistance to business partners with month end activities
- Test and verify system changes/updates
- Provide support in the budgeting process
- Improvement and automation of existing processes
- Help set-up reporting processes for new ventures and requirements
- Ad-hoc investigations and tasks
Qualifications And Experience
- An Actuarial student making good progress with Actuarial exams.
Knowledge and skills
- Good understanding of insurance products
- Financial services industry knowledge (Understanding the fundamentals of a Life company)
- Good verbal and written communication skills to manage relationships with business stakeholders
- Ability to work independently, take initiative and meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and conceptual thinking
- Good MS Office skills (Word, Excel)
- Advanced computer skills
