- Established connections/relationships at a senior level to be awarded tenders and for establishing business in public sector pharmaceutical sales
Our client, a leader in vaccines manufacturing, seeks a Head of Africa Marketing - Vaccines to join them in shaping the future of healthcare in Africa and beyond with their vaccine portfolio. This is a commercial position focusing on marketing, branding, and positioning the company's products in Africa.
Qualification / Experience Requirements, But Not Limited To:
- Degree MBA or related Business degree
- Degree in a relevant Health or Science-related field
- Over 5 years relevant experience relating to this job description, inclusive of 3 years at a mid to senior management level
- Africa tender experience
- Expertise and training in Africa's pharmaceutical market and established understanding of government tenders, public sector pharmaceutical sales, and procurement processes
- Knowledgeable of primary healthcare and immunization programs
- Experience in Africa market access, customer relationship management, and tender processes
- Understanding of pharmaceutical legislation, pricing, marketing, and regulatory issues
- Excellent presentation, networking, and stakeholder management skills
- Proficiency in French is a requirement and fluent in English (Portuguese will be advantageous)
Responsibilities:
South Africa:
- Shape preferential procurement policy to support localization
- Lead government and stakeholder engagements
- Develop and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders
- Monitor competitor activity and identify business opportunities
Africa:
- Achieve market access for the company's vaccine portfolio in African markets
- Develop Africa strategy with clear timelines and deliverables
- Monitor competitor activity and identify business opportunities
Global:
- Support Africa stakeholder engagement in the global community
- Position the company's value proposition to stakeholders
- Facilitate strategic funding initiatives and business development deals
