We are seeking a skilled and proactive Junior IT Operations Administrator to oversee and manage our IT infrastructure across multiple locations. This individual will ensure seamless IT operations, support our globally remote staff, and set and enforce IT security policies. The ideal candidate will possess a broad range of technical skills and have experience managing both Mac and Windows environments.
Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:
Technical Support & Maintenance:
- Provide on-site and remote resolution of desktop computing issues.
- Manage, upgrade, and replace workstations and peripherals.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for support and maintenance.
Platform & Service Management:
- Manage a hybrid Windows/Mac environment.
- Oversee hosted software services such as Google Workspace, Jira, CMS tools, and more.
IT Security & Compliance:
- Create and enforce IT security policies.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and supplier agreements.
IT Initiatives & Support:
- Manage IT asset inventory, procurement, and deployment.
- Support office infrastructure, including conference room equipment and AV devices.
- Provide high-level technology services to subsidiaries.
Networking & Communication:
- Oversee office networking, including routers, firewalls, switches, and VPNs.
- Manage PBX telephone systems and online meeting tools like Google Meet and Teams.
Collaboration & Communication Tools:
- Oversee collaboration tools such as Slack.
- Develop and document IT processes, procedures, and policies.
Development Team Support:
- Handle user access requests for tools like AWS, GitHub, and SonarCloud.
- Collaborate with development teams to support their IT needs.
Vendor Management:
- Establish and maintain relationships with IT vendors and service providers.
- Manage vendor performance.
IT Strategy & Planning:
- Develop and implement IT strategies aligned with business goals.
- Plan and manage IT budgets, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
User Training & Support:
- Provide training and support to staff on new technologies and tools.
- Develop user guides and documentation for common IT processes and tools.
Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity:
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans.
- Ensure business continuity through effective backup, recovery, and redundancy procedures.
Project Management:
- Lead IT projects and initiatives from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and within budget.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success.
Monitoring & Reporting:
- Implement monitoring tools to track system performance and security.
- Provide regular reports on IT operations, incidents, and improvements.
- Monitor and report on IT costs.
Mobile Device Management (MDM):
- Implement and manage Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions to secure and monitor mobile devices.
- Develop policies for mobile device usage, ensuring compliance with security standards.
- Provide support for mobile device setup, configuration, and troubleshooting.
Requirements and Technical Expertise:
- Broad experience with web-based computing services such as Google Workspace, Jira support tickets, CMS software, video/audio conferencing, etc.
- Experience with cloud platforms including AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
- Extensive knowledge of office networking: routers, firewalls, switches, WAPs, Wi-Fi security, VLANs, subnets, site-to-site and client VPN, networked printing, and network security.
- Familiarity with PBX telephone concepts: PRI, SIP, VoIP, DID, ACD, IVR, CTI, voicemail, hot-desking, remote calling, Zoom, Teams, Google Meet, and similar online meeting tools.
- Proficiency with collaboration software such as Slack.
Process & Policy Development:
- Experience developing IT processes, procedures, and policies to enhance efficiency and security.
