An opportunity exists for an exceptional Head of isiZulu to join the school from 1 January 2025 .
Duties (not an exhaustive list):
- Teach isiZulu in the Intermediate Phase
- Ensure that lessons impart a love and competence in isiZulu
- Promotion of the St Peter's Prep Schools attributes and values
- Teach according to the St Peter's Prep Schools Best Practice pedagogy
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Professional qualification
- At least 5 years’ experience teaching isiZulu
- SACE Registration
Candidates should have the following attributes:
- A clear love of language which they enthusiastically share with their students
- The ability to use technology as a tool for teaching and learning
- Proven successful teaching experience with both mother tongue and second language students
- Excellent content knowledge of isiZulu culture
- Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills
- A willingness to support and mentor and to be mentored
- A values-based approach to teaching
- The flexibility, ability and willingness to work outside school hours, when necessary
- The intention to work according to the school’s ethos, specifications, and policies
- The ability to manage processes and lead staff
