Manufacturing concern is seeking an Estimator for the Sales & Marketing Department. The position is a technical administration function in the tender process (estimating and establishing costs) of the product to the point of acquisition.
Key Activities:
- Report to the Manager and receive guidance on the Company's Tender/Estimating process.
- Engage with Senior Managers to develop and define enquiry scope and requirements.
- Prepare/review Technical/Customer specifications.
- Prepare a costing estimate and interrogate costing inputs to create a price quotation.
- Prepare tender documents.
- Finalize and process internal order documents.
- Hand over order to Contracts Manager and assist with internal launch of new orders.
- Receive and process enquiries for spare parts.
- Process any orders for spare parts, including internal order paperwork, expediting supply of parts, freight, delivery and payment.
- Any other reasonable activity requested by the Manager.
Requirements:
- A National Diploma or Degree in the field of Engineering or Finance/Cost Accounting.
- Practical experience (4-years or more) in an Engineering Design/Drawing Office or Finance/Costing environment.
- Excellent verbal and written English language skills.
- Intermediate level computer literacy.
- Must be prepared to undergo written and verbal assessments.
Advantageous:
- Knowledge on tank containers including drawings, regulations, operations and industry players.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Additional languages (German, Dutch, French).
- Global awareness, political and cultural (specifically USA and Europe).
