An exciting career opportunity exists at Medipost for a Cluster Pharmacist Assistant (Special Meds) in Order Processing, this position is based in Gezina.
Primary purpose of the job:
- Providing proper patient care as per GPP (Good pharmacy practice) regulations
- Attending training on pharmacy acts and GPP
- Compliance with the POPI Act regulations
- Accurate capturing of prescriptions, acute and/or chronic medication. (As per SOP)
- Accurate handling of rejections as per SOP
- Handling of clinical discussion and/or enquiries with patients and health care professionals or SPN’s
- Resolve Rejections and prioritize adding scripts to WIP
- Attending to cluster and personal action diaries
- Compliance to SLA requirements (completing of mailbox/rejections profiles, action diaries within required timelines)
- Attending to and responding in a professional manner to email (TAT of 2 hours) messages or enquiries received from management, SPN’s or members
- Attending to OUT OF WIP notifications
- Attending to rejected prescriptions and templates from Blind checking as priority, in order to ensure SLA compliance
- Attending of SOP training and SOP revision training
- Compliance with Company Policies, Procedures and SOP’s
- Stock management – understanding the cold chain processes, expiry dates, stock returns
- Helping in clinical help desk on Saturdays as per roster
- Ensure correct reporting to external service providers on a daily/weekly/monthly basis as needed
- Ordering stock with order department on items out of stock
- Correct handling on Section 21 item in terms of ordering and claiming
- Sending medication/appliances quotes using the correct format
- Paper claims submission using correct documents and follow up on outstanding payments thereof
- Attending to Ex-Gratia claims and follow ups thereof
- Management of patients on diabetes using continuous glucose monitoring devices (Pumps, Transmitters, sensors etc.)
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- ESS: Responsibility to manage leave in accordance with company policies

- Housekeeping audit score of 100% within the order processing department
- Specific Requirements

- An understanding of the implications of making errors in a pharmacy environment
- 0.75 Errors/month (3 errors in 4 months average)
- Assist in call center as a reliever when needed
- Do help desk duty for call center when needed
- Output requirement may be subjected to change/update depending on the operational requirements
- Willingness to work overtime when required by management
- Continuous professional development – attending training or forums
- Attend to group pharmacist-initiated activities
- Willingness to assist with stock take if required at least once per year
- Willingness to assist or attend training in other departments such as the Walk-in Pharmacy and Production
- Inter-departmental training and assistance as needed
Qualifications:
EXPERIENCE/IDEAL:
Previous experience in a courier or retail pharmacy will be advantages
Prior experience with Diabetes management, diabetic CGM appliances
LICENSING & ACCREDITATION: Need to be registered at SAPC
TRAINING REQUIRED:
Training on company systems (e.g. Medipost APP, online authorization system and procedures, ESS, etc)
Medipost Bridging course for internal Medipost appointment
Familiar with Microsoft Office
