Key Responsibilities:Efficiently process and pay applications for Housing Benefit, Council Tax Reduction, Discretionary Housing Payments, and more, ensuring compliance with legislation.Handle and resolve telephone, face-to-face, and written inquiries from residents, landlords, and external agencies.Provide welfare assistance advice and direct customers to additional support where needed.Ensure accurate Council Tax account information and resolve discrepancies affecting financial awards.Manage the recovery of overpayments in line with policies or recommend them for write-off where applicable.Essential Requirements:GCSEs in English and Maths (grades A-C) or equivalent.Relevant experience in Housing Benefit and Council Tax rebate assessment.Strong numerical and financial calculation skills.Proven customer service experience, with the ability to meet diverse needs.Proficiency with NEC Northgate Revenues & Benefits and/or Capita Academy systems.Adaptability in a busy, demanding work environment.
