Michelin supports both traditional fleet customers and new partners like cities in creating more sustainable transport networks.THE ROLE IN SHORT:The Product Design Director will lead the global strategy for Product Design, overseeing research and analytics for Michelin Services & Solutions. This role involves making key decisions on product integration across web, mobile, and mobility solutions, primarily B2B, with some internal applications. The Director will collaborate closely with Product, Sales, Engineering, and Digital Marketing teams to ensure a seamless, user-focused experience and brand consistency across regions (Europe, North America, and LATAM).As the Product Design expert, the Director will mentor and guide others, driving the Product Design agenda while managing complex projects and stakeholder relationships in a multicultural environment. Leading a global, growing team of Product Designers and Researchers, they will ensure alignment and leverage team strengths while managing contractors, budgets, and onboarding processes. Strong leadership, adaptability, and customer focus are essential for success in this role.WHAT WILL I BE DOING:Design, build and deliver the Product Design global strategyLead Product Design across the Services & Solutions organisation, owning the end-to-end process: Research, Design, Implement + DeployBuild a global ‘Centre of Excellence’ for Product Design for Services & Solutions with a global needs in mindBuild a clear set of insights and understanding of customer needs and trends to inform decision-making, development prioritisation and resource allocationDeliver a consistent customer experience across multiple platforms, in multiple geographic locationsRecruit a solid team of Product Designers, through external resources, across our key talent hubs (London, France and Brazil)Contribute to the consistency, impact and ‘cut-through’ of all digital, customer-facing platforms across the business lineCollaborating closely with CPO, CMO, CTO and wider leadership team membersCollaborating closely with key functions: Engineering, Product and SalesIn collaboration with the Product Excellence, build a clear picture of priority initiatives and deliverables across the business through an intense and structure induction programmeEstablish a clear position as ‘the Product Design expert’ in the business, but demonstrate an open and accessible behaviour in-line with our company values; the democratisation of knowledge and competencies is important for future talent planning, resource allocation and building a collaborative mindsetBuild a network of key allies within the wider Michelin organisationTO BE SUCCESSFUL YOU WILL LIKELY HAVE:Bachelor's or Master’s degree in design, UX, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience with a track record of continuous professional growth8+ years of experience as a Product Designer, Interaction Designer, Design Manager or any Design leadership roleDemonstrate a portfolio of work with a proven track record for solving difficult Product Design problems and simplifying difficult requirements to intuitive interfaces solutionsExperience closely collaborating with Engineering and ProductExperience creating services and applications with multiple user touchpoints on different platforms and devicesExperience leading research projects and user testingExcellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills including the ability to present design concepts clearly and persuasively to colleagues, partners, stakeholders and especially to senior executivesHighly organised and effective project management skills with track record for effectively managing design across multiple, concurrent programsAbility to work efficiently and demonstrate a bias for action in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environmentRelentless desire for innovation and driving high standards, balanced with business needs and customer expectationsExperience hiring and scaling teams globallyWork-life balance is important to us at Michelin Connected Fleet, so we offer our teams as much flexibility as possible in line with the needs of their role.
