Sales Representative
Our client, a reputable business in the generator industry, is currently looking to hire a Sales Representative to join their growing team in East London, Eastern Cape. In this role, you will fulfil a sales representative role within the generator industry and commercial and industrial sectors.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Achieve agreed profitability targets
- Establish, develop, and maintain relationships with current and future customers
- Expedite and follow-up on the successful resolution of customer problems
- Reach out to customer leads through cold-calling
- Coordinate sales efforts with team members and other departments
- Weekly customer visits
- Monthly customer outings
- One-week country trip every month
- Travel, develop, and maintain brand presence in neighbouring countries
- Achieve short- and long-term sales targets
- Perform cost-benefit analysis of existing and potential clients
- Maintain positive business relationships to ensure future sales
Marketing and Competitive Analysis
- Quarterly competitor pricing comparison
- Monthly submission of market analysis
- Research, report, and keep abreast of market conditions
- Investigate and understand the organizational structure of clients
- Report on competitor activity, developments, and pricing
Administration
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of enquiries, quotes, and tenders
- Timely loading of sales orders
- Timely completion of all internal administration
- Assist accounts personnel with the collection of outstanding payments
- Preparation and distribution of marketing and sales aids
- Provide timely stock verification information on equipment on site
- Completion of weekly and monthly reports
- Compliance with all reasonable instructions
- No outstanding debtors amount in excess of 45 days
- Customer surveys within 5 days of last delivery
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Grade 12
- BCom Degree in Marketing Management or equivalent (advantageous)
- Minimum 3 years’ sales representative experience in the generator industry or commercial and industrial markets
- Own car and driver’s license
- Fully computer literate in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Flexibility to work long hours and weekends when required
