Job Purpose
The purpose of the job role is to grow the customer base and increase market share. The incumbent will also provide support to the External Sales Representative and convert inquiries into sales by answering inbound telephone calls, promoting and selling the company's world-class products with excellent customer service.
Duties:
- Capture full and complete quotations in Syspro and follow up on all outstanding quotations.
- Check material availability and advise the expected date of receipt.
- Sales orders must be captured on Syspro upon receipt of the order.
- Check stock availability and ensure the order is credit-released.
- Send order to production planning.
- All orders are to be buddy-checked and signed off.
- Buddy check colleagues' orders within an hour of receipt.
- Agree on delivery dates with the customer.
- Arrange for customers to have people to off-load on-site.
- Book deliveries with logistics.
- Check all orders on back order.
- Follow up on delivery dates for orders with no material and amend delivery dates if necessary.
- Send back-order reports to the rep every day.
- Advise customer and rep on the progress of orders.
- Respond to queries on the same day.
- Resolve customer complaints on the same day.
- Investigate and process credit notes/claims in the same month.
- Assist with processing orders for colleagues when absent or during excessive workloads.
- Assist with ad-hoc tasks as required.
Minimum Requirements:
- Matric certificate with mathematics.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a sales environment.
- Internal and external customer liaison.
- Must be able to work independently.
- Must be able to work under pressure and manage high volumes of work.
