Job Summary:
We are seeking to add a compassionate and committed Learning Disability Support Worker to our team. In addition to helping with routine duties, encouraging independence, and improving the quality of life of individuals with learning difficulties, the ideal applicant will offer them individualised support. This position calls for understanding, empathy, and a dedication to improving the lives of people we support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized support to clients with learning disabilities in various settings, including their homes, community, and residential facilities.
- Assist clients with daily living activities, such as personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks.
- Encourage and support clients in developing independent living skills, social skills, and participation in community activities.
- Monitor and document clients progress, ensuring accurate and timely record-keeping.
- Administer medication and manage healthcare appointments as required.
- Provide emotional support and establish positive relationships with clients and their families.
- Ensure a safe and inclusive environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with individuals with learning disabilities or in a similar support role.
- Strong understanding of learning disabilities and the challenges faced by individuals with such conditions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license
