We're looking for an exceptional Assurance Manager Level 3 to help us make a difference to our planet.
As our Assurance Manager Level 3, the job may be suitable for hybrid working, which is where an employee works part of the week in the office and part of the week from home. This is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement and the location advertised will be your contractual place of work.
Our opportunity is full time, 37 hours per week, but we would also consider applicants wishing to work part time and we will also try our best to consider those intending to work a job share. Your world of expertise
You will play a leading role in the assurance of our diverse portfolio of projects and programmes. You will manage all aspects of our independent assurance for high profile projects and programmes, helping them achieve success and supporting the maturing of our Project Delivery capability.
Your key duties
- Coordination of independent peer reviews of projects and programmes across the entire Met Office Portfolio
- Identifying trends and lessons from assurance reporting and using that information to shape the Met Office Project Delivery maturity plan.
- Work with sub portfolio managers and senior responsible owners to ensure to agree the schedule of assurance events, agree assurance criteria and ensure they implement appropriate levels of assurance.
- Deliver continuous improvement of our assurance processes.
- Deliver assurance training and guidance.

As our Assurance Manager Level 3, your total reward package will be up to £57,639 annually, which includes:
- £41,725 base pay
- An outstanding Civil Service pension, with an average employer contribution of 27%
- Annual Leave starting at 27.5 days (plus Bank Holidays) rising to 32.5 days (plus Bank Holidays) after 5 years and option to buy or sell up to 5 days per year of annual leave
Essential Criteria, skills and experience:
Supporting projects and/or programmes within a P3M environment, ideally in the conduct of assurance activities.Stakeholder engagement; demonstrate confidence in working with senior leaders to agree and influence desirable outcomes.An ability to ensure agreed actions are implemented and lessons learned are captured.Delivery of timely and accurate reportingExperience of delivering continuous improvement activities.
