Job Overview
Randstad Agency is looking for a qualified and experienced Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) Social Worker to join our team in Carlisle.
This role involves working with individuals experiencing mental health crises, conducting assessments, and coordinating care plans in line with the Mental Health Act.
The ideal candidate will possess the necessary qualifications, skills, and dedication to provide high-quality support and advocacy for service users.
Key Responsibilities
Mental Health Assessments: Conduct thorough mental health assessments for individuals in crisis, determining the necessity for intervention under the Mental Health Act.
Crisis Intervention: Provide immediate support and intervention for individuals experiencing mental health emergencies.
Coordination of Care: Develop and implement comprehensive care plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, including healthcare professionals, family members, and community resources.
Legal Responsibilities: Fulfill legal duties as an AMHP, including arranging and coordinating compulsory admissions to hospital when required.
Advocacy: Advocate for the rights and needs of individuals with mental health issues, ensuring their voices are heard and respected.
Documentation: Maintain detailed and accurate records of all assessments, interventions, and decisions made, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and organizational policies.
Qualifications and Skills
Education: A degree in Social Work and current registration with Social Work England.
AMHP Certification: Approved Mental Health Professional status.
Experience: Significant experience working in mental health settings, particularly in crisis intervention and assessment roles.
In-depth knowledge of the Mental Health Act and related legislation.
Strong assessment and decision-making abilities.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage complex situations.
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of service users.
