Job Overview:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining our financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments. You will be working closely with our management team and will have the opportunity to contribute to the financial health of the company. Oversight will be provided by our external auditing firm, ensuring that all financial practices adhere to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

VAT Submission and Calculation: Accurately calculate and submit VAT returns in a timely manner.
Maintain Financial Records: Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process.
Bank Reconciliation: Regularly reconcile bank accounts and ensure all discrepancies are resolved.
Invoicing: Prepare and issue invoices and follow up on outstanding payments.
Expense Tracking: Monitor company expenses and ensure they are recorded accurately.
Prepare Financial Statements: Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports up to the trial balance.
Liaise with External Auditor: Collaborate with our auditing firm to ensure compliance with accounting standards and practices.
Payroll: Assist with payroll processing and ensure employee records are up-to-date.

Qualifications:

Proven bookkeeping experience, preferably within a small to medium-sized business.
Strong understanding of VAT regulations and submission processes.
Experience preparing financial statements up to the trial balance.
Proficiency in accounting software XERO
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Familiarity with family-run business environments is a plus.
