We are currently looking for a *HGV CLASS 1 DRIVER (with Flat or HIAB Experience desirable) *to join our team working out of our site based at Flimby, Maryport. CA15 8RY.

Our diverse and wide product range of readily available blocks, cement, sands, gravels available for supply to merchants and direct to clients and customers throughout the Northwest, and Northeast of England.

We can achieve this due to the key advantage of our privately own large fleet of 70 modern heavy goods vehicles each able to carry up to 30 tonnes.

*About the role:*

We are seeking to recruit permanent, full time Class 1 Driver(s).

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established company.

As part of your duties, you will have to follow all DVSA rules on road transport safety. These will be carried out via electronic systems. You will be provided will all training on all aspects of the job and supplied with all PPE required to carry out the role.
* Working hours Monday to Friday are within tachograph rules.
* Saturday morning overtime is regularly available during peak season (paid at overtime rate)
* Day shifts (‘nights-out’ required)

Job Type: Permanent, Full-time, immediate start available.

*Rate of Pay:* From £13.40 per hour.

*Holiday entitlement:* 29 days including bank holidays.

*We are looking for:*

· A highly safety conscious and motivated *HGV class 1 driver* with drive and enthusiasm to work as part of a team.

· Someone who has excellent communication and team working skills.

· Good organisational skills.

· Ability to work to deadlines.

· Previous experience within a similar industry – preferred but not essential.

*Your main duties will include:*

· Comply with all DVSA rules on safety.

· To maintain your truck in a safe condition by carrying out pre use checks to manufacturers and Thomas Armstrong recommendations.

· Complete daily inspection sheets.

· Report problems and defects to the foreman.

· Compliance with company Health, Safety and Environmental procedures.

The successful candidate must hold a current LGV driving licence class 1.

*Experience:*
* Driving a Goods Vehicle: 1 year (preferred)

*Licence/Certification:*
* Driver CPC (statutory)
