Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and passionate chef specializing in the preparation of Sheryakh, a traditional Afghan ice cream known for its rich, creamy texture and unique flavours. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the techniques involved in crafting this authentic dessert, as well as a commitment to preserving traditional Afghan culinary practices.

Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare Sheryakh using traditional Afghan methods, ensuring high standards of flavours, texture, and presentation.
• Source and select high-quality ingredients, including milk, saffron, pistachios, and other essential components of Sheryakh.
• Innovate with flavours while respecting the authenticity of Afghan dessert-making traditions.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and ice cream production areas.
• Ensure proper storage and handling of all ingredients and finished products.
• Collaborate with the management team to introduce Sheryakh to new customers and promote it as part of the dessert menu.
• Train junior kitchen staff in the preparation of Sheryakh, if required.
• Comply with food safety regulations and maintain a hygienic work environment at all times.

Qualifications:
• Proven experience as a dessert chef, preferably with expertise in traditional Afghan
cuisine, specifically Sheryakh.
• Strong knowledge of ice cream-making techniques, including freezing, churning, and
flavour balancing.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Knowledge of Afghan spices, nuts, and traditional ingredients.
• Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
• Creativity in dessert presentation and flavours experimentation is a plus.

Preferred Experience:
• Previous experience in an Afghan restaurant or dessert café.
• Experience in developing and refining traditional recipes to suit a modern audience.
