We’re looking for a senior PHP developer to help further improve the quality of our core product, as well as work with our data science team to build, deploy and improve machine learning and big data techniques to improve matching, categorisation and insight into our huge product catalogue.

Responsibilities

API and Frontend development in PHP, with occasional Go and React thrown in
Regular, basic database management and optimisation
Work with the data science team to deploy and improve machine learning (especially natural language processing) approaches, to improve the quality of our catalogue of product offers
Work effectively with (and optionally, contribute to improving) code repositories, CI/CD pipelines, and test suites
Work effectively in a small development team, through effective communication, attention to detail and self-management

Requirements

At least 5-8 years of experience in:

PHP
MySQL
Object Oriented Principles and Design Patterns
Git
Unit and integration testing

At least 3 years of experience in:

Memcached or Redis
AWS (Amazon Web Services)
Basic server administration (nginx, apache)
Creating and using RESTful services – API-driven development experience essential
