PJ’s prides itself on its small batch roasted coffee that is superior to other shops and we are looking for cheerful, friendly personalities committed to brewing delicious, high-quality coffee and crafting some exquisite espresso creations.

Baristas are our most important team members. They offer a unique, coffee forward experience for every customer and serve as a coffee expert, with exceptional knowledge of menu items and preparation methods (roasting process, flavor, etc.). Responsibilities:

Serve the tastiest, most consistent product according to PJ’s standards.
Deliver a smile and excellent hospitality to every person that walks through our doors.
Stay current with the menu, seasonal items, and promotions.
Make suggestions that will improve the overall experience of the customer.
Be obsessive about quality and accuracy.
Work efficiently by prioritizing and using time wisely.
Demonstrate sound problem solving skills.
Follow written and verbal instructions.
Adhere to health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
Keep all areas clean and organized, maintain equipment, and report any malfunctions.
Communicate with fellow staff in a timely, professional, and respectful manner.
Be ready and willing to go above and beyond for the team and our customers.
Get involved and enthusiastically spread PJ’s support of our communities.

Qualifications:

Barista experience is great, but not needed (you will be trained in the PJ’s way of serving the best cup of coffee in town!).
An amazing work ethic, outgoing and engaging personality, and a genuine smile!
Interpersonal and customer service skills to spread the love!
The ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment because we will be busy!
Learning to communicate via email, phone, text, and company app.
Being eager to learn quickly – stuff is always changing!
Responding positively to pressure, keeping composure, and staying calm.

Compensation:

Starting salary: State minimum for tipped employees plus tips (which means at least $15.00 an hour + tips).
