Description About the Team
Working within the Insight Team, the team of six Insight Intelligence Officers are responsible for receiving, assessing, and managing and sharing risk information and regulatory concerns.
The Insight Intelligence Officers collaborate with teams across the organisation to provide useful intelligence to inform their decision making.

About the role
This role involves providing expert advice on data and intelligence sharing, developing effective partnerships with stakeholders, and supporting safeguarding efforts within the NMC.
Key responsibilities:

Business Knowledge & Support: Gain an in-depth understanding of regulatory intelligence, the NMC's regulatory functions, and how these impact our strategic and operational goals. Stay informed on UK healthcare systems, whistleblowing, and safeguarding legislation.
Intelligence Management & Analysis: Handle incoming and outgoing intelligence, perform research, and identify risks and trends. Develop intelligence reports and provide expert advice on data sharing in compliance with relevant legislation.
Stakeholder Engagement: Build partnerships with regulatory bodies, safeguarding agencies, and other key stakeholders. Provide excellent customer service and ensure engagement activities support wider NMC business goals.
Record Keeping & Reporting: Ensure accurate record-keeping, follow quality assurance procedures, and prepare reports on safeguarding, intelligence sharing, and team activities

About you
As an Insight Intelligence Officer, you will be/have:

Substantial experience as an intelligence officer/researcher in a regulatory or enforcement environment.
Proven experience using open-source intelligence
Experience with strategic research techniques to identify emerging concerns
Experience producing risk research intelligence products.
Advanced IT skills, especially in Microsoft Excel.
Knowledge and experience with Freedom of Information & Data Protection legislation

The role you are applying for is a flexible role, and whilst you will be posted initially to a team, this may require movement between teams as the flow of work dictates. Our Pay Policy
It is expected that staff new to the NMC will ordinarily be appointed to the bottom of the relevant pay band. However in exceptional circumstances, it may be possible to offer a salary above the bottom of the relevant pay band but we may request proof of current earnings. Please note that we offer an annual review of salaries and adopt a generous progressive pay approach. Further details of which are available on request.
