Isca Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting for an Assistant Accountant to join a small finance team at a professional business near Okehampton. This is a super opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to grow and further develop experience in a fast-paced environment.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Assistant Accountant will be responsible for a range of accounting duties.

Updating daily cash forecast, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately.
Bank reconciliations, and supplier statement reconciliations.
Assisting with the purchase and sales ledgers.
Investigating and resolving discrepancies.
Assisting with monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations and income reconciliations.
Assisting with management of cashflow.
Posting accounting journals and maintaining supporting schedules
Assisting with budget/forecast analysis and sales analysis.
Supporting year end accounts preparation
Assisting with systems and process improvements.

Salary: £30,000pa.
Benefits include: 20 days holiday + bank holidays, company pension, life assurance, free parking etc
Location: On site role
Hours: Full time, Mon Fri, some flexibility on start and finish.
Start Date: Immediate start available although not essential.

Assistant Accountant The Person:

The successful candidate will have a proactive, friendly personality and enjoy being in a busy, varied role.
Recent accounts experience including purchase ledger, sales ledger, and bank reconciliations is essential. Ideally, you ll have some knowledge of month end duties.
AAT part-qualified or similar is desirable, but experience and attitude are more important!
You will need to be organised and able to work using your own initiative.
A desire to learn and grow your accounts knowledge and skills.
IT skills including Sage, knowledge of Sage 200 is a bonus!
