Medipost Pharmacy is looking for 6 CCMDD General Assistants Clinical in the Production Department. The roles will report to the CCMDD Operations Manager.
Operational Management
Daily stats:
- Daily requirement of a general assistant clinical stats minimum of 500 totes per day.
- GA need to achieve the above mentioned daily targets each day.
Daily errors in picking:
- Limiting picking errors to below 1.5% of your totes picked per month to avoid unnecessary time wasted to fix the miss picks.
- Double totes found in one picking box.
Paying attention to detail:
- The GA to ensure that the medication is picked according to the tote; this includes correct items, strength and quantity needed.
- Focus is crucial to ensure all information corresponds with the tote, if all is correct the parcels need to be put on the appropriate shelf.
- Ensure that you pick according to priority, or as instruction was given.
Order of boxes that need to get packed onto the shelf:
- SLA gets packed first onto the shelf.
- Followed by the back dates next to the SLA.
- Lastly the new date gets packed next to the back dates.
- GAs need to adhere to the SLA each day.
If there are no boxes, workflow will have boxes sent down and then the GAs will help pack totes into the correct boxes.
GAs need to prioritize their work.
When there are no totes:
- When the General Assistants have picked the daily amount put on the shelf from workflow then workflow will confirm no more totes will get packed.
- The GAs will then be sent to help out at other departments and only allocated personnel will stay behind to pick SLA live claims.
Scanning process of totes:
- A GA may take a maximum of one line of boxes and then pick it and only after picking.
- The GA will be required to finish picking the totes before fetching more boxes.
- The picker may not start work and then leave the work and go out of the building.
- The GA must ensure that they have not left any boxes behind and what they have picked has been completed.
Stock challenges whilst picking:
- GAs may find empty bins whilst they are busy picking.
- If a GA finds an empty bin, they need to circle the item name on the tote and then put To-Follow letters next to the item and place it on the picked shelves.
- Most of the medication has alternative bin numbers.
- The GA must ensure that they have checked every bin number listed on the tote for the specific item before writing it as a To-Follow.
Once the stock has been put into the box the person in charge of the To-Follow shelf will be responsible to put the box on the Fine-Pick shelf.
- There should be no boxes on the floor.
- No totes should be left by the computers.
- There are allocated personnel who do housekeeping on a daily basis.
- No medicine should be left on the floor.

- Grade 12 with Mathematics and Physical/Life Sciences
- Learner Basic with SAPC Registration
