Job Description
The ideal Business Development Manager will be responsible for the following:
- Market Research:
● Conduct market research to identify potential customers and market trends.
● Analyze competitors and market conditions to develop effective sales strategies. - Sales Planning:
● Develop and implement sales plans to achieve company sales goals and objectives.
● Set targets for sales team members and monitor their performance. - Customer Relationship Management:
● Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential customers.
● Address customer inquiries and provide product information.
● Ensure customer satisfaction and resolve any issues or concerns. - Product Knowledge:
● Possess in-depth knowledge of the company's products.
● Communicate product features, advantages, and benefits to customers. - Sales Presentations:
● Prepare and deliver effective sales presentations to potential clients.
● Highlight the unique selling points of the company's chain products. - Quoting and Pricing:
● Prepare accurate and competitive price quotes for customers.
● Negotiate pricing and terms to reach mutually beneficial agreements. - Order Processing:
● Process sales orders and coordinate with other departments to ensure timely delivery.
● Track and manage orders to meet customer expectations. - Sales Reporting:
● Generate regular sales reports for management, highlighting key performance indicators.
● Analyze sales data to identify trends and areas for improvement. - Trade Shows and Events:
● Represent the company at trade shows, exhibitions, and industry events.
● Network with potential customers and partners.
The Successful Applicant
The ideal Business Development Manager will fit the following profile:
- Industry background in Cement/mining/Chain manufacturing Industries
- 5-6 years of experience in sales and business development within the industrial manufacturing or heavy machinery sector, with a strong focus on the South African market.
- Proven track record in client acquisition, relationship management, and end-to-end sales cycle leadership, consistently achieving or exceeding revenue targets.
- Skilled in market analysis and strategy development specifically for South Africa, identifying growth opportunities and aligning efforts with company objectives.
- Ability to drive local market expansion by collaborating with internal teams, leveraging customer insights, and shaping product development.
- Strong understanding of South Africa's regulatory and cultural landscape, enabling seamless navigation through compliance requirements and market entry.
