Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure infrastructure services are maintained and operational to the service standards specified.
- Maintain availability of assets and buildings in accordance with specified standards.
- Support the planned maintenance program to ensure business continuity with minimal downtime.
- Proactively manage the maintenance process and identify potential equipment or asset failure or problems.
- Proactively identify assets nearing end of life or requiring upgrades for consideration in capital investment plans.
- Investigate plant or equipment failures to establish root cause and recommend corrective actions.
- Provide recommendations and, where necessary, oversight of reactive maintenance work to ensure all work is carried out as per the work order and specification, maintaining quality standards.
- Approve proposals for new plants and equipment and provide specifications for their supply and installation, ensuring compliance with Barclay's standards and good engineering practices, particularly where such standards are not available.
- Provide specialist technical knowledge and expertise to Facilities and Project Managers, including supervision of works executed, as needed.
- Ensure assets are controlled, operated, and meet the necessary operational specifications.
- Implement appropriate incident management protocols and procedures to ensure redundancy systems are always fully operational, thereby mitigating risks to business operations.
- Undertake and maintain activities that assure the availability of assets and buildings.
- Engage and maintain cordial relationships with the various client representatives.
- Timely planning and execution of all planned maintenance.
- Ensure the availability and reliability of regional assets and buildings.
- Manage breakdowns, planned outages, and the implementation of root cause failure outcomes.
- Report and manage incidents effectively.
- Ensure the timely management and completion of reactive work requests.
- Support vacancy fulfillment, employment equity, and people development initiatives.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- N6 Diploma in Engineering
- Grade 12
- Code B Drivers License
Experience:
- Experience in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- Experience in Facilities Management
