Areas of responsibility include,
but are not limited to :
- Plan and facilitate the output and delivery of the Drafting Division according to the priorities and needs of the different divisions;
- (Supervision ) Take full responsibility for all technical drawing requirements of the company;
- Do first design drawings, with the guidance of designers and management, based on Request for Quotations (RFQs) received from customers. Interpretation of RFQs must be done in accordance with legal requirements and should be applied and indicated on the initial drawing. Thereafter updates must be made according to the next stages of progress and as required;
- (Construction drawings ) Fully responsible for planning and co-ordination of construction drawings as needed during the design and construction preparation phase of projects: Follow up, in person, and as required any aspects that would require input from the design team for preparation of the construction drawings to be made;
- (As-built drawings ) Fully responsible for planning and co-ordination of As-built Drawings as needed during the implementation phase of projects: Follow up, in person, on a daily basis and/or as required any changes on-site that would require updates on the construction, progress and As-Built drawings to be made;
- Prepare comprehensive Bills of Materials from the drafting package into an MS Excel Spreadsheet and/or Project Materials lists (for quotation and to draw stock from stores);
- To work closely with designers/engineers when developing drawings, calculations and equipment application for fire alarm, security, sprinkler, suppression, access control, CCTV and security systems using the drafting package. Review and interpret engineer specifications. Prepare 2D and 3D drawings for conceptual presentation, contract requirements or floor plan layouts;
- (Quality Control ) Ensuring that all drawings are presented in a professional and detailed manner as required by management at any time;
- (Project Management Liaison ) Fully responsible to give accurate and complete feedback on a continuous basis to the Designers, Engineers, Project Managers and technicians regarding progress, changes or completion of drawings. This should be done in an effective manner as agreed between all parties involved;
- To liaise with the persons compiling the Systems Manuals about drawings, As-Built and similar requirements;
- (Folder Management ) Fully responsible for the management of folders of drawings on the server by effective and efficient quality standards with the aim of limiting redundancy and ensure easy and logical access. To ensure revisions are updated and numbered correctly and to manage obsolete and redundant copies to preserve space on the Server;
- (Service Reports ) Fully responsible for ensuring that drawings/plans, and updates of drawings, for the servicing division agrees with the information on the service report. To seek out and identify any discrepancies, if there are any; liaise directly with the Serviceman until resolved. Once the final drawings agree with the service report details and quantities forward a hyperlink of the PDF copy to the Service Manager for final review;
- (Accessibility ) Ensure that all drawings, ours or clients, are converted into a readable format (e.g. PDF) agreed to by all parties so that employees can view the plans at all times;
- To participate in Systems Production Meetings, when required, and to make recommendations to improve work flow processes;
- To train and guide junior draftsmen and technicians;
