Key Purpose of the Role
The Solutions Architect is responsible for understanding and translating requirements, often abstract, converting these into the architecture and design, to best propose how software will be integrated and deployed into an existing technology stack to best utilize assets in context with providing a sustainable and working solution for the client/enterprise. The Solutions architect acts as the bridge between business and application architecture.
Areas of Responsibility
The successful applicant will be responsible for but not limited to the following job functions:
- Review, interpret and respond to detailed business requirements specifications (BRS) to ensure alignment between customer expectations and current or future ICT capability.
- Provide input to the strategic direction of technology investments to assist in the development of the enterprise architecture and maximize the return on technology investment.
- Define and design technology solutions within the agreed enterprise architecture, to assist the business in meeting their business objectives.
- Develop, test and implement technology solutions and report on delivery commitments to ensure solutions are implemented as expected and within agreed timeframes.
- Ensure that the solution architecture aligns with the roadmaps established by the enterprise architecture, and that it adheres to the enterprise architecture principles.

Education and Experience
- Matric with Maths (essential)
- Must have tertiary qualification
- A Bachelor’s Degree in a related area such as Computer Science / Information Systems etc.
- Development background and domain knowledge
- Computer literate: Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and Outlook - advanced
- Keen knowledge of the insurance industry, trends and new developments (Advantageous)
