Job & Company Description:
The Senior Systems, Service & Solutions Proposal Engineer will contribute to the development of the Systems and Service Business in the region of responsibility, contribute to the development of the Digital Enterprise Business in the region of responsibility as well as contribute to the RFQ / RFT process within the Systems and Service and the Digital Enterprise Solutions department by generating a proposal or tender.
The key responsibilities for this role will include:
- Support internal and external sales activities
- Liaise with internal and external customers to develop technical and commercially acceptable proposals and tenders
- Liaise with internal and external customers to cost products or services
- Perform calculations and costing for tenders and proposals.
- Coordinate and supervise final documents to ensure quality and compliance with the Companys Global Rules and Quality Management procedures.
- Ensure that risk to the company is minimised by generating appropriate responses to clients commercial terms and conditions, where there is uncertainty, escalating to the Manager
- Participate as a member of the sales team in the pursuit of its business activities especially at sales meetings, training sessions, shows and conferences.
- Mentor and train junior employees on systems processes, filing requirements, documentation control and CRM
As you will be required to hit the ground running extensive experience is essential.
The requirements:
Qualification: - Formal qualification in Process Control and Instrumentation (BSc/B Tech Engineering) or equivalent.
Experience: - Minimum of 4 years technical experience in industrial automation.
- Minimum of 4 years in generating technical and commercially acceptable tenders and proposals.
- Clear understanding of Digital Transformation, IT/OT convergence, Data Science & Cyber Security solutions.
- Working knowledge of supply contracts, quotation tools, risk management, incoterms and commercial T&Cs.
- Proven track record in sales or sales.
Skills Required: - Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Persuasive and authoritative style in interactions with important staff respondents and customers.
- Mature and able to multitask.
- Confident and extrovert individual with ability to work and problem solve on own without close supervision, or as a group member and team player.
