A client is seeking a Lead Data Engineer with AWS and AI/ML skills as follows:
Responsibilities:
- Architect AI/ML data models and deep learning solutions on AWS Cloud.
- Lead a team of 8 Data Scientists/Engineers with their solutions on AWS Cloud.
- Draft strategies and processes to guide the Data Science/Engineering teams.
- Serve as SME on all AI/ML projects, providing key insights and guidance to the business.
- Manage AI/ML partnerships with external stakeholders and mentor team members.
Skills Required:
- 8-10 years of experience in Data Engineering/Data Science, including some experience on the AWS Cloud stack.
- At least 2-3 years of experience as a Team Lead, including experience with AI/ML Data Engineering teams.
- Solid experience in AI/ML Modeling, Frameworks, Algorithms, and Deep Learning.
- Some Project Management and Vendor Management experience is ideal (not required).
- A degree in Data Science/Computer Science/Engineering or similar is beneficial (not required).
Work Arrangement:
- This is a permanent work position .
- With a hybrid work method (1-2 days/week at their offices).
- Their offices are in Cape Town and Gauteng (Sandton).
- Relocation to Cape Town/Gauteng is included (at the client’s cost).
