Candidate Profile
As a Contract Manager, you would be responsible for the following:
- Support the Development Team during the bidding phase to prepare term sheets and other relevant documentation linked to EPC and O&M Contractors.
- Negotiate contracts with Contractors after award.
- Lead and direct all contractual aspects of executing the project including risk assessment.
- Have detailed knowledge of the Power Purchase Agreement, EPC Contract, O&M Agreement, and various Project Agreements/permits/consents and manage the stakeholders effectively in line with the contracts.
- Be effective in responding to the correspondences from various counterparties and ensure the interest of the Company is protected.
- Actively monitor the project progress in line with the contract schedule and ensure the parties adhere to the program.
- Interface with the senior management team, finance, and legal personnel to meet overall project deliverables.
- Establish procedures for the award and administration of any Project contracts.
- Verify the invoices of the contractors along with the Owner’s Engineer and process the payments.
- Understand and prepare invoicing procedures for the Company and work closely with the model consultant in finalizing the Settlement system and plant model software.
- Monitor and manage the Company’s various registration documents, certifications, construction permits, project-related permits, NOCs and work actively to ensure timely renewals.
Activities
Ideally, as Contracts Manager, you would possess the following:
- Minimum 7 Years of Experience working with large Wind, PV or Energy Storage projects in the Renewable Energy industry, preferably in the REIPPPP. Previous experience of interacting with ESKOM on self-built projects is a strong preference.
- Professional Certification in Contracts Management is recommended.
- Ability to understand and analyze the details of non-contractual matters such as engineering, cost control, planning, and construction in order to provide relevant contractual support.
- A collaborative, solutions-oriented approach and strong communication skills are required.
- Be a team player, yet be able to work independently and manage workload and priorities.
- Strong preference for South African Citizens, with previously disadvantaged individuals being a further preference.
He/She is reporting to the Legal Manager. He/She has to interact with business, technical, execution, financing, and management teams from various locations. He/She has to interact with various teams within TotalEnergies, in order to deliver the projects. Finally, He/She is in direct contact with 3rd parties, like Partners, Contractors, Advisors (Technical, Legal...), Lenders...
This role may require business travel.
