Warehouse Assistant/Stock Controller
Brackenfell, Cape Town - R7 000 to R8 000 Per Month
Manufacturer, Importer, Exporter and Distributor of handles, hinges, screens, window hinges, window and door hardware/accessories and measuring equipment seeks a Warehouse Assistant to receive, check, put away, count, pick and dispatch boxed goods of Aluminium Hardware for speedy delivery to customers.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Accurate picking, packing and dispatching
- Preparation of transport documentation
- Maintain, clean and keep all electronic and other warehouse equipment in working order
- Receive stock and accurately check stock from Suppliers
- Ensure orders are dispatched efficiently
- Assist Savignac counter customers with accuracy and speed
- Monitor warehouse shelves to ensure neatness and tidiness
- Check and shelve stock from Suppliers and PTA branch with accuracy and speed
- Clean bay regularly
- Ensure that shelves are neat and clean
- Label all stock
- Conduct monthly stock take accurately
- Prepare for monthly stock take as per head office regulations
- Perform daily cycle counts and meet weekly targets
- Ensure Supplier and Interbranch documentation is sent to Office Manager for filing
- Comply with and enforce all policies and procedures within area of responsibility
- Accurately count stock at all times
- Shelve stock in a logical, neat and tidy manner according to set layout
- Work with Manager to identify and manage slow-moving stock
- Apply FIFO method on all stock
- Adhere to health and safety procedures at all times
- Assist with ad-hoc duties as requested by Management
- Ensure sound communications with all internal and external customers
- Raise any issues that may influence warehouse management
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Matric or equivalent
- Product knowledge
- Problem-solving skills
- Experience with stock within a warehouse
- Experience with stock takes
- Ability to recognize and report mistakes
- Ability to follow instructions
- Pick and pack stock correctly
- Physically capable of moving around and lifting at least 25 Kgs
- Forklift operation and possession of a forklift driver’s license
- Ability to train new warehouse assistants
- Comprehend customer expectations and the costs and effects of failure to deliver on promises
