Amazon is looking to a hire a VAT Planning manager to focusspecifically on e-invoicing, e-reporting and related transactioncontrols/reporting. The role will report to our EMEA Retail VATDirector, as part of the wider EMEA VAT Planning team but will befocused specifically on these areas.
E-invoicing/e-reporting models areproliferating around the globe and this is a great opportunity tobe at the heart of this business critical area for Amazon. We arelooking to hire a talented tax manager who has been a part of theE-Invoicing mandate having advised on an E-Invoice implementationpreviously.
The role may be based in any ofAmazon's established European offices (London, Luxembourg,Barcelona, Warsaw or Bratislava) Regular travel to other locationsis likely.
Key jobresponsibilities
Key responsibilities and activitiesinclude the following.
- Working with colleagues in VATPolicy and the central E-Invoicing Compliance (EIC) team tomonitor, track and evaluate legislative developments such as theEU's ViDA programme and individual country developments.
- Analysing published law and guidance to draftcomprehensive Tax Requirements Documents plus other briefingmaterials.
- Liaising with partner teams such as TaxEngine, FinOps, Operations and Finance to assist with theirexecution of requirements.
- Work with EIC team toassist with project management of e-invoicing implementationprojects.
- From time to time, as capacity allows, tosupport on other areas of VAT Planning work whererequired.
BASICQUALIFICATIONS - At least five years professional VATexperience in a global consulting/accounting/law firm or thein-house indirect tax team of a global, blue chip business.
- You will demonstrate experience of work on previouse-invoicing projects or tax technology work such as tax engineswith a strong understanding of process and controls.
-First rate analytical skills to take complex law/guidance andunderstand how they impact Amazon's business.
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must, witha proven ability to translate complex law/guidance into clearrequirements for the teams to implement.
- Provenability to build relationships and work with partnerteams.
PREFERREDQUALIFICATIONS Relevant law degree, accounting or taxqualification is preferred but not essential if the candidate candemonstrate the appropriate knowledge and experience.
