Matheus Group is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team on a temporary basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for pricing a tender document for an upcoming project, with the deadline for submission on the 28th of May 2024. Position: Quantity Surveyor (Temporary)
Location: Matheus Group Headquarters, 43 Biccard Street, Polokwane 0700
Duration: Temporary, with an expected duration of (specify duration)
Responsibilities:
- Analyze and interpret the tender documentation, including drawings, specifications, and bill of quantities (BOQ).
- Accurately price the BOQ and prepare detailed cost estimates for all aspects of the project, including materials, labor, and equipment.
- Collaborate with the project team to ensure that all pricing is in line with project requirements and budget constraints.
- Create cashflow projections for the duration of the project, taking into account procurement schedules, payment terms, and project milestones.
- Provide support and guidance to the tendering team throughout the tender process, addressing any queries or concerns as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
- Proven experience in quantity surveying, with a strong understanding of construction cost estimation and tender pricing processes.
- Proficiency in industry-standard quantity surveying software (e.g., CostX, BuildSoft) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Deadline-oriented mindset with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines.
