RESPONSIBILITIES
The Head, CSL Vifor Policy, Advocacy & Government Affairs leads the development and execution of policy and public affairs plans to enable the achievement of CSL Vifor’s business ambitions today and into the future, and to maintain and grow CSL Vifor’s profile as a leader in the biopharmaceutical industry.
The role serves as the company’s senior representative for CSLV with public affairs stakeholders.
The role is responsible for ensuring organizational awareness of and ability to shape government legislation and/or regulatory issues that affect the success of CSLV.
The role will design and oversee execution of plans to advance CSLV’s priorities in the public affairs realm by drawing on and directing CEA team members and resources in key geographies.
The person in this role will be responsible for the following:
- Develops and lead execution of PAGA plans to drive CSLV priorities in key geographies, with a focus on Patient Blood Management and maximizing the value of the CSLV portfolio.
- Leads and coordinates company engagement with government officials, industry associations, patient associations, and other stakeholders in relevant policy matters.
- Leads the communication of business-relevant policy updates to senior company leaders.
- Partners with key functions, including CSLV Market Access, Marketing, Medical, and Regulatory, and CEA teams in key geographies, to develop and execute plans.
- Leads engagement for CSLV in Switzerland with government officials, industry associations, and other stakeholders, and coordinates public affairs activities across CSL business units (CSL Behring, CSL Seqirus, and CSL Vifor).
- Develops and leads execution of engagement plans to ensure strong relationships with public affairs stakeholders where CSL Vifor has a significant presence.
QUALIFICATIONS
Graduate/professional degree in law, public health, or similar disciplines preferred.
Minimum 15 years of experience in healthcare policy/public affairs or comparable fields.
Experience designing and leading global efforts to manage public affairs issues, and to build company profile and impact with important healthcare public affairs stakeholders in key geographies including the US and Europe.
Experience collaborating with colleagues at multiple levels of the organization to align on and execute shared goals.
Strong understanding of the workings of major healthcare industry associations.
Experience partnering with third-party stakeholders to advance shared goals.
Strong network of relationships with government officials, industry, and other stakeholders that are influential in shaping policy that can affect CSLV priorities, including patient blood management.
