Compliance Manager
Compliance Manager with a LLB qualification required in the Logistics/freight industry.
Duties & Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement compliance policies, procedures, and controls by relevant laws and regulations in the logistics and freight industry.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to evaluate compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in legislation and industry regulations that may impact our operations.
- Provide training and education to employees on compliance matters, including ethics, anti-corruption, and data privacy.
- Investigate and address compliance issues, violations, and complaints promptly and effectively.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as operations, legal, and finance departments, to ensure alignment with compliance requirements.
- Liaise with regulatory agencies, industry associations, and external partners on compliance-related matters.
- Prepare and submit reports to management and regulatory authorities as required.
- Develop and maintain effective compliance monitoring and reporting systems.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from a recognized institution.
- 5 years’ experience in compliance management within the logistics and freight industry.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards governing logistics and freight operations in South Africa.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and a high level of integrity.
- Certification in compliance or related fields is a plus.
