has a number of vacancies for Academic & Quality Managers with CA(SA) credentials in the distance mode of provision for its SAICA-accredited Bachelor of Accounting degree. These positions are based at the Stellenbosch academic head office. The disciplines in which we require Educators are:

Key Responsibilities
Module Management
- To support, guide, provide oversight, monitor and quality assure the Educators’ facilitation of the learning and teaching of specifically allocated modules according to the syllabi congruent with the programme.
- Responsible for the adherence to the published academic and operational calendars and timetables for each semester.
- Management of the Educators’ uploads of quality assured teaching, learning and assessment collateral to the learner management system.
- Oversight of the Educators’ responses to student queries via the learner management system, email, or telephonically.
- Timeous responses to student queries and appeals on the learner management and administrative systems and in your email inbox and/or telephonic messages.
Student & Academic Staff Support
- Be committed and available to support students, educators and staff consistently and timeously. Ensure that relevant Boston policies and procedures are accurately and consistently implemented.
Teaching and Learning
- Ensure that the teaching, learning and assessment strategy for the module/s is aligned to the programme’s intentions and to the Institution’s pedagogical approach, as well as policies on teaching, learning and assessment.
Learning Material Development
- Responsible for the processes of timeous planning, briefing and variance monitoring of material development including quality assurance of the learning material produced for use in the learning engagement with students.
Administration
- Managing the process of grading and moderation of all assessment events by the educators/graders/moderators on the modules you are responsible for as per the academic calendar.
- Regular meetings with the educators and programme co-ordinators on the modules for which you are responsible.
- Administration of grades after the completion of assessment events according to the academic calendar.
- Provide relevant information as required to the programme coordinator.
Quality Assurance and Moderation
- Co-ordination/management of the internal and external moderation processes including the appointment of external moderators and examiners.
- Facilitate and/or participate in internal developmental workshops toward the enhanced quality of learning, teaching, assessment and student support.
- Involvement in the syllabus and curriculum design, development and review process.
- Provision of analyses of data for module evaluations using appropriate tools.
- Collection of relevant data for module reviews and programme evaluations.
- Completion of module reviews at the conclusion of the module or as required.
- Participation in the processes of programme evaluation and external reviews.
- Ongoing monitoring and evaluation of each module’s performance.
- Early identification of at-risk students and modules and implementation of support interventions.
Additional Responsibilities
- Provide intellectual leadership and take responsibility for line management to support educators in accomplishing the main objectives of the modules.
- Regular reporting to your direct and indirect line managers.
- Regular attendance and participation in various committee meetings as part of the general administration of the academic project.
Scholarly Activity
- Ongoing participation in and leading of scholarly activities including research, professional practice and continued professional development.
Community Engagement
- Ongoing participation in and leading of community engagement endeavors as per the Institution’s approach.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Candidates are required to hold the professional registration for the CA(SA) credential. Additionally, a Master's Degree or studying towards a Master's Degree is an advantage. Candidates are required to have a minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of academic experience at a higher education institution.
