Role Summary:
PwC South Africa is seeking an analytical and dynamic accounting graduate to join our Reward Practice, which is a specialist team within the firm’s wider Tax and Legal Department. Our team helps organisations set their compensation strategies through analysis of industry benchmarks, company policies and culture, and employee performance. As a member of our team, you’ll help our clients determine their compensation structures with a specific focus on the analytical aspects thereof.
Qualifications / Certifications required:
Accounting graduates who successfully completed an NQF Level 8 Qualification (BCom Honours Degree) majoring in any of the below:
- Management Accounting: e.g. BCom Honours Degree
- Financial Accounting: e.g. BCom / Accounting Honours Degree
- Tax Accounting: e.g. BCom Honours Degree
Experience required:
Newly graduated students will be considered.
Responsibilities of role:
- Collecting and analysing remuneration data for PwC’s internal remuneration database;
- Performing executive and non-executive director benchmarking and assistance in determining an appropriate comparator group;
- Conducting critical reviews of client’s remuneration practices, and drafting papers including review outcomes and recommendations for new structures to clients (both executive management and remuneration committees);
- Drafting of market practice papers on various elements of remuneration;
- Performing indicative financial modelling for variable incentive schemes to assist clients in understanding the cost versus benefit implications thereof;
- Performing various wage gap analysis to assist clients with their fair pay analysis;
- Assistance with the so-called single figure remuneration reporting;
- An awareness of topical issues surrounding executive reward, both globally and locally, and the preparation of communication material to remuneration committees regarding this information, as well as providing ongoing advice;
- Managing client relationships (under the supervision of more senior staff);
- Project managing client engagements;
- Responsibility for risk management procedures and managing costs/fees;
- Attending client meetings;
- Assisting with the preparation of client publications;
