Job Overview
A Wholesale Supplier organisation located in Johannesburg is currently looking for an Assistant Financial Manager/Senior Accountant. An Accounting Degree + SAICA Articles is mandatory for this role. This role also requires staff management, with about 5-7 people reporting to the successful individual. Experience working on advanced MS Excel is a requirement, specifically in terms of the VLOOKUP function as well as experience working with Pivot Tables.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Step in and take over the management of the finance department
- Managing a Finance Team of about 5 to 7 people
- Managing the general ledger as a whole and its structure
- Approving journals
- Approving payments - monthly creditors and ad hoc weekly payments
- Reviewing creditor reconciliations
- Enforcing financial policies and controls
- IFRS experienced (including for SME's)
- Calculating income tax
- Managing tax affairs of the company
- Managing CIPC compliance
- Compiling annual financial statements (AFS) for 4 legal entities and one simple group consolidation
- Monthly financial accounts and reporting
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Minimum of 5 years of work experience in a similar role
- Relevant Accounting Degree plus SAICA Articles is a mandatory requirement
- Bookkeeping Certificate would be highly advantageous
- Strong MS Excel Skills
- Experience working on Syspro would be a huge advantage
