Assistant Management Accountant - Maternity Cover; The Chesterford Group, Bishops Stortford
Fixed Term Contract
£30,000 - £33,000, depending on experience
The Assistant Management Accountant is responsible for a wide variety of tasks supporting the Accounts department. The role is based at the Head Office in Bishops Stortford and will report to the Finance Manager. The maternity cover will be a fixed term contract of 14 months to ensure a handover pre and post maternity. This role would suit someone who has had experience in assisting with the production on month end reports and is now looking for more responsibility.
Responsibilities:
The role will assist the Finance Manager and the rest of the Finance Team with accounting, reconciliation, administration and reporting and will support the data integrity within our systems.
Supporting the preparation of Board packs for month end, annual budgeting & quarterly forecasting
Preparation of balance sheet reconciiations
Prepare and monitor weekly cash flow forecasts
Prepayments, accruals and depreciation
Bank reconciliations
Monthly inter - company recharges
Production and issue of weekly flash reports
Support with marketman - data entry, static data updates
Assist with invoice processing
Issuing weekly & monthly reports to the Operations Team
Answering Operational Manager queries
Holiday cover for Team Members
Assisting the Financial Controller & Finance Manager with ad hoc tasks and reports
Assisting the Financial Controller & Finance Manager with support work around implementing a new accounting system
Skills:
Detail orientated and accurate
Good initiative and confident in learning new processes
Flexible, able to priortise, organised, self motivated
Good communicator both written and verbal
Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
An ability to be discreet, diplomatic, reliable and trustworthy
Experience of new system implementation desirable
Requirements:
Part Qualified CIMA/ACCA
Minimum of 5 GCSE's ( including Maths and English A-C grade ), A Levels and / or Degree desirable
Proficient in Microsoft Office Word / Excel / Outlook
Good telephone manner for handling queries over the phone
Experience of working in an accounts team desirable, preferably in a retail / hospitality environment
