About the Company:
It is a gold mine in the Witwatersrand basin of South Africa, covering an area of nearly 100 square kilometres. Witwatersrand basin is the most famous gold-producing area in the world, accounting for about 50 percent of the world's total gold output. The company has a long exploration history, and its gold reserves are considerable. According to a reputable report, the ore grade of the gold deposit is high and the average grade is more than 7 g / ton, which belongs to high grade mineral deposit, and has a good development foundation and economic benefit prospect. At present, it is estimated that the gold reserves of the gold mine are over 500 tons. In view of the geological characteristics of ore bodies in this area, the resources value of the gold mine will be further enhanced.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a strategic business development plan to drive growth in the mining sector.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities and partnerships to expand the company's client base.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients, partners, and industry stakeholders.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and competition in the mining sector.
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop innovative solutions and proposals for potential clients.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to promote our services and expertise.
- Monitor and report on business development activities, progress, and results to senior management.
Leadership:
- Convene and chair team co-ordination meetings to discuss weekly sales opportunities and business administration aspects.
- Convene and chair team meetings quarterly to provide feedback on sales performance, opportunities, projects and people aspects.
- Assist with business administration and removal of roadblocks where needed.
- Crisis control and management.
- Drive and conduct recruitment as required by the team.
- The role requires strong interpersonal skills and provision of mentorship and guidance to all team members.
Commercial:
- Responsible for sales performance for CAPM African Precious Metals.
- Manage and interrogate Project Forecasting Tool (PFT) and provide guidance to the team on sales system.
- Monitoring work in progress (WIP) and invoicing progress.
- Conduct Debt review and follow up on relevant significant debts where required.
Technical:
- Proficient working with MRM.
- Lead / prominent role in delivering local projects.
- Offer technical guidance and support on projects where required.
- Maintain professional registration and technical capabilities.
- Engagement with Clients and other stakeholders at the senior executive level and providing support and guidance on critical E&S aspects affecting their projects.
Qualifications
- A BSC Mining Engineering degree or higher degree
- Relevant due diligence project experience.
Key Competencies:
- Demonstrable leadership experience.
- Working with MRM.
- Due diligence of businesses.
- Ability to work independently and remotely.
- 15 years or more experience as a business development leader.
- Contribute to and drive the annual business strategy for CAPM African Precious Metals with the support of the senior leadership team. Aim to position the team as the lead in sector.

- Experience in Sub Sahara Africa (outside of South Africa) and ability to travel.
